Abstract:

To provide a method for producing an active alumina molded body having high strength and high pore volume.

The method for producing the active alumina molded body includes a step of: obtaining raw material powder for molding by adding a ceramic fiber to alumina powder having at least partially re-hydration property; a step of: molding the raw material powder for molding by tumbling granulation method to obtain a molded body; a step of: rehydrating the molded body; and a step of; firing the rehydrated molded body. The ceramic fiber preferably has 30-300 m average fiber length and 1-20 m average fiber diameter.
