Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a method for efficiently producing an alkylene oxide addition product by subjecting an alkylene oxide to addition polymerization in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst.SOLUTION: A method for producing an alkylene oxide addition product comprises adding an alkylene oxide (c) to an active hydrogen-containing compound (b) in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst (a). In the method, the moisture content of the active hydrogen-containing compound (b) is 300 ppm or less, the peroxide value is 0.5 (meq/kg) or less, and the basicity (CPR) is 0.8 or less.
