Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an α-fluoroether which is suitable for use in the production of a hydrofluorocarbon by a method not containing chlorine.
SOLUTION: This method for producing the α-fluoroether, comprises reacting a non-enolated aldehyde with hydrogen fluoride to produce an intermediate and then reacting the intermediate with an alcohol or a halogenating agent. New α-fluoroethers are also provided.
