Abstract:
To provide a production method of an aluminum alloy extrusion material having excellent hardenability in extrusion, high strength and high toughness.SOLUTION: A production method of an aluminum alloy extrusion material includes casting a billet at a casting speed of 60 mm/min or more by using an aluminum alloy containing: restricted amounts of 0.50-1.0% Mg, 0.80-1.30% Si, 0.85-1.75% Mg2Si, and 0.10-0.85% excess Si; 0.10-0.60% Mn, 0.05-0.35% Fe, 0.15-0.95% Mn+Fe, 0.35% or less Cu, less than 0.10% Cr, less than 0.10% Zr, less than 0.10% Zn, less than 0.10% Ti, and the balance consisting of aluminum and inevitable contaminants, by mass%, homogenizing at 560-590°C for 2 to 8 hours, subsequently cooling at a speed of 50°C/hour or more, preheating at 400-550°C and subsequently conducting extrusion, cooling the extruded material from 460-550°C at an average cooling speed of 350°C/min or more, and subsequently applying artificial aging.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
