Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a disazo compound which can reduce the toxicity equivalent (TEQ) concentration of coplanar polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB).
The method for producing an aromatic disazo compound by the diazo coupling reaction of (A) a diazo component composed of a tetrazonium salt of an aromatic diprimary amine with (B) a coupler component composed of an aromatic compound capable of reacting with the above component (A) comprises using, as the above tetrazonium salt, (a) a tetrazonium salt obtained by reacting a sulfate of an aromatic diprimary amine with nitrous acid.
