PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound suitable as an intermediate for producing a medicine and an active compound for food additives.
SOLUTION: A polyhalogenated benzotrifluoride is reacted with a chloride of Friedel-Crafts reaction catalyst series to form a corresponding benzotrichloride. The obtained is reacted with water in the presence of ferric chloride to form a corresponding benzoyl chroride.
