Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically adjust the synchronization between an amplitude signal and a phase signal in a transmitter such as a polar modulation transmitter.
SOLUTION: A polar signal generation circuit 101 generates a signal corresponding to the amplitude and phase of a transmission modulated wave from an input signal, modulates the amplitude of the phase modulated wave to generate a transmission modulated wave by multiplying the amplitude signal by the phase signal in a multiplication circuit 107 and radiates the transmission modulated wave as a radio wave from an antenna 108. An amplitude and phase detection circuit 109 detects an amplitude signal and a phase signal from an input of the multiplication circuit 107 and an input of a phase modulated signal generation circuit 106, and a delay difference calculation circuit 110 calculates respective correlation functions from the respective detected amplitude and phase signals and calculates a delay difference from those maximum values. A timing adjustment circuit 102 performs timing adjustment by adjusting the delay time of the amplitude signal and the phase signal on the basis of the calculated delay difference.
