Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embodiments of raw materials and a process enough for producing a sufficient amount of butadiene, because it is thought to be impossible to satisfy a demand for butadiene, which is expected to grow from now on, with only the conventional Cfraction and the like by-produced by naphtha cracking as a supply source of the butene raw material.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing butadiene comprising: subjecting a raw material containing n-butene and a molecular oxygen-containing gas to an oxidative dehydrogenation reaction in the presence of a molybdenum-bismuth catalyst to obtain a gas generated by the reaction; and refining the gas generated by the reaction to obtain butadiene. n-Butene in the raw material includes one obtained by dimerization of ethylene, one obtained by dehydration of butanol, one contained in a C4 fraction obtained by cracking a heavy oil obtained from petroleum refining, one obtained by dehydrogenation or oxidative dehydrogenation of n-butane, or one obtained by naphtha cracking.
