Abstract:
To provide canvas cloth that has uniform thickness and high surface smoothness all over the both surfaces of the cloth.
The plain-woven base fabric of nylon or polyester spun yarns is pre-coated with poly(vinyl chloride) paste on both surfaces in a prescribed thickness, allowed to gel by heating the paste. Then, the surfaces are pressed to remove concave or convex surface defects that give adverse effect on the smoothness of the base fabric. Finally, the smoothly treated surfaces are coated with the poly(vinyl chloride) paste.
