Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING CARBON FIBER NONWOVEN FABRIC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013237943
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a carbon fiber nonwoven fabric which can suppress a fuzz on a surface of the nonwoven fabric and improve smoothness.

A pitch-based carbon fiber nonwoven fabric is produced through a nonwoven fabric forming process; an infusibilization process; and a baking process. The baking process is composed of a carbonizing step of a preceding stage and a graphitization step of a latter stage. In the nonwoven fabric forming process, a nonwoven fabric is formed from pitch-based carbon fibers, and in the infusibilization process, a nonwoven fabric obtained in the infusibilization process is infusibilized by being heated and held in the presence of oxygen. In the carbonizing step in the baking process, the infusibilized nonwoven fabric 21 is sandwiched by graphite sheets 33 and baked under pressure to carry out carbonization. In the graphitization step, the carbonized nonwoven fabric 21 is sandwiched by graphite sheets 33 and baked under pressure to carry out graphitization.
