Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing cuprous chloride granular material which is uniform in grain size and is excellent in quality.
SOLUTION: Molten bath containing cuprous chloride and cupric chloride is generated by chlorinating copper, molten bath of cuprous chloride is generated by reducing the molten bath of cupric chloride and the granular material of cuprous chloride is produced by scattering the molten bath of cuprous chloride from the tip part of a guiding device 62 to a space. Therein, a spray nozzle is disposed in the vicinity of the tip part of the guiding device, a gas is blown against the molten bath of cuprous chloride on the tip side of the guiding device from the nozzle, the molten bath of cuprous chloride is scattered to the space and is rapidly cooled, thereby, the granular material of cuprous chloride is produced and, at the same time, the temperature of the molten bath of cuprous chloride on the tip part of the guiding device is made to be 480-600°C.
