Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cuprous chloride which continuously and efficiently produces molten bath of cuprous chloride for long time.
SOLUTION: This method for producing cuprous chloride is constituted in such a manner that a process for producing molten bath containing cuprous chloride and cupric chloride by chlorinating copper as a starting material with chlorine gas and a process for producing cuprous chloride by reducing the molten bath containing the cupric chloride are successively performed. By using a reactor which is partitioned to a first reaction part (a) and a second reaction part (b) and is provided with a communication part 15 communicating one parts of both reaction parts, the molten bath containing cupric chloride is produced by copper and chloride gas in the first reaction part (a), the molten bath is introduced into the second reaction part (b) via a communication part 15 and the cuprous chloride can be produced by reducing the molten metal containing the cupric chloride in the second reaction part (b).
