To provide a method for producing a feeding center-suppressing substance.
The method for producing the feeding center-suppressing substance comprises a step of fermenting a caralluma fruit and caffeine with lactobacillus. The feeding center-suppressing substance is composed of one molecule of pregnane and one molecule of caffeine and the caffeine is bonded to a hydroxyl group of the pregnane through an ester bond. The bonding of the caffeine promotes transfer of the substance to the center. The addition amounts of caffeine and lactobacillus are 0.1-0.9 pt.wt. and 0.004-0.02 pt.wt. respectively based on 1 pt.wt. of the caralluma fruit. The fermentation is performed at 35-49°C for 23-97 h. The feeding center-suppressing substance is usable as pharmaceutical preparations, foods and cosmetics.
