Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metal/carbon fiber composite at high levels of a metal held thereon through raising the wettability of inorganic fibers (carbon fibers) with the metal by a simple and easy means to bring the metal into the depth of the inorganic fiber bundle.
SOLUTION: This method for producing a metal/carbon fiber composite is characterized by comprising the following process: a carbon fiber bundle, after removing a sizing agent therefrom, is immersed in an alkoxide solution followed by an alcohol, and then impregnated with a metallic melt.
