To provide a practical method for producing fluorosulfuric acid esters.

The fluorosulfuric acid esters can be produced by reacting alcohols with sulfuryl fluoride (SO2F2) in the presence of a base and water. Optically active secondary alcohols are preferable as a raw material substrate, and optically active -hydroxyesters and optically active 4-hydroxyprolines are particularly preferable. Furthermore, a desired reaction proceeds particularly well by carrying out the reaction in the presence of a reaction solvent immiscible with the water in a two-phase system. Thereby, the method for production solves all the problems of conventional techniques, and is commercially practicable.
