Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a gear capable of forming densified layers at the whole sides of a plurality of teeth while suppressing the generation of inner cracks.SOLUTION: A method for producing a gear comprises a step (step S3) of rolling a gear 2 formed using a powder metallurgy process. In the case the dimensional difference of the gear 2 before and after the rolling step (step S3) is performed is defined as a rolling margin, the rolling margin in the pitch circle of the gear 2 is set to 0.3 mm or lower, further, the rolling margin in a dedendum side with respect to the pitch circle of the gear 2 is set to 0.3 mm or higher, and, in the rolling step (step S3), the fluidization of the structure of the gear 2 is generated from the dedendum side to the addendum side of the gear 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
