Abstract:
To provide a method for producing 1,3-dimethylnaphthalene in excellent production efficiency.
The method for producing 1,3-dimethylnaphthalene comprises using hydrogen fluoride and boron trifluoride as catalysts and isomerizing dimethylnaphthalene. The isomerization is carried out in the presence of a 5-10C alicyclic saturated hydrocarbon having a five member ring or six member ring structure in a liquid phase.
