Abstract:
PURPOSE: To efficiency obtain the subject compound in a high yield by treating tamarind seed xyloglucan with endoglucanase, etc., inoculating the treated xyloglucan with a galactose-utilizing microorganism, and subsequently culturing the inoculated microorganism to selectively consume only the galactose.
CONSTITUTION: The method for producing the objective compound comprise acting an endo-1,4-β-glucanase and β-galactosidase on tamarind seed xyloglucan to produce the mixture of xyloglucan oligoheptasaccharide with galactose, inoculating the mixture with a galactose-utilizing microorganism such as a yeast having a galactose-utilizing ability, and subsequently culturing the inoculated microorganism to selectively consume only the galactose.
