Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING METAL-CERAMICS COMPOSITE MATERIAL HAVING THICKNESS PART
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002212690
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a metal-ceramics composite material by which, even if a preform has a thickness part, aluminum or an aluminum alloy can be infiltrated therein without causing an unifiltrated part in the thickness part.

Melted aluminum or aluminum alloy as a matrix is infiltrated into a preform having a thickness part and formed of ceramics powder or ceramics fiber as a reinforcing material to produce a metal-ceramics composite material. In this production method, the preform is the one in which the face to be infiltrated with the aluminum or aluminum alloy is provided with a slit or a hole. The preform is infiltrated with the melted aluminum or aluminum alloy in a nitrogen atmosphere under non-pressurization.
