To provide a method for producing a (meth)acrylic ester by which the amount of an additionally charged catalyst can be reduced.

The method for producing the (meth)acrylic ester comprises: heating a mixture of an alcohol (A), an alkyl(meth)acrylate (B), a polymerization inhibitor (C) and an ester interchange catalyst (D) to start an ester interchanging reaction, in which the alkyl of the alkyl(meth)acrylate (B) is interchanged with a group contained in the alcohol (A), where the water content in the mixture of the alcohol (A) and the alkyl(meth)acrylate (B) is regulated to be ≤1,200 ppm, and the proportion of the formulated polymerization inhibitor (C) may be 5-10 wt.% based on the alcohol (A).
