This method for producing the pyrrole compound represented by general formula (1), (wherein, X1 and Y1 are each independently H or a cyclic skeleton having H or subtitents; R1 is a 2-6C straight chain or branched alkylene group) comprises reacting a pyrrole compound having a hydrogen-substituted heterocyclic nitrogen atom with an alkylene oxide in a reaction solvent containing a tertiary amine catalyst.
