Abstract:
To provide a method capable of obtaining, at high yield, polyamide 4 having a high molecular weight.SOLUTION: A production method of polyamide 4 is a method for polymerizing 2-pyrrolidone, while kneading it by a twin screw kneading extruder, by using a polymerization catalyst and a polymerization initiator, in the presence of an organic aluminum compound and a quaternary ammonium salt, and preferably is a method for supplying, into the twin screw kneading extruder, a solution (A) formed by mixing 2-pyrrolidone, the polymerization initiator and the organic aluminum compound, and a solution (B) formed by mixing 2-pyrrolidone, the polymerization catalyst and the quaternary ammonium salt.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
