Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing antibacterial/mildewproof polymer particles effectively and sustainably expressing antibacterial property and mildowproof property of metals by containing antibacterial/mildewproof metals as metal ultra fine particles or metal complex ultra fine particles at a high concentration.
SOLUTION: The method for producing an antibacterial/mildewproof polymer particles comprises ion-exchanging or ion-coordinating polar groups of a crosslinked polymer particles with at least one metal selected from a group consisting of Ag, Cu and Zn, wherein the crosslinked polymer particles have ion-exchangeable or ion-coordinatable polar groups, and treating the resultant, with a ligand compound yielding and precipitating the metal ion as metal complex compounds, to yield metal complex ultra fine particles having ≤100 nm particle diameter in the polymer particles to be supported therein.
