To provide resin particles sharp in size distribution and excellent in fixability when used as a toner, by a method for producing the resin particles, comprising the process of obtaining the resin particles by passing a relevant raw material through a base nozzle having through-holes to form droplets followed by pulverizing the droplets.
The method for producing resin particles (C) is provided, comprising the process of obtaining the resin particles including a resin (B) by passing a liquefied raw material (L) including the resin (B) through a base nozzle having through-holes each 0.005-100 μm in diameter to form droplets followed by pulverizing the droplets. In this method, it is characterized in that, the resin (B) is a thermoplastic resin with a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000-1,000,000; the volume-average size (DVc) of the thus obtained resin particles (C) is 0.01-120 μm; and the ratio: [DVc/DNc] (DNc is number-average particle size) of the thus obtained resin particles (C) is 1.0-1.5.
