Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing surface-treated oxide particles suitably used as an active material layer of a positive or negative electrode in a storage battery (secondary battery).SOLUTION: There are obtained surface-treated oxide particles having a hydrophobic product having a trimethylsilyl group on a part or the whole of the particle surface by bringing oxide particles having an alkaline compound on a part or the whole of the particle surface into contact with gas containing volatile trimethyl silylation agent to form a hydrophobic product having a trimethylsilyl group by a gas reaction. The alkaline compound is at least one selected from compounds containing lithium (Li), sodium (Na) and magnesium (Mg). The oxide particles are an alkaline composite oxide containing at least one transition metals of manganese, cobalt, nickel, iron and titanium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
