Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a trans-isomer of a 4-substituted-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid in high efficiency by a method proceeding under a mild condition.
The method for producing the trans-isomer of a 4-substituted-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid comprises the addition of a solid strong base and an alkyleneoxy compound to a cis-isomer or a mixture of the cis-isomer and the trans-isomer of the 4-substituted-cyclohexanecaboylic acid or its ester compound, and the heat-treatment of the obtained mixture.
