Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road traffic congestion predicting method and program for realizing highly accurate prediction of traffic congestion.
SOLUTION: According to a traffic congestion prediction function of a navigation system 20, a traffic information acquiring program 22d and a traffic information analysis program 22e acquire the past degrees of traffic congestion of a plurality of sections obtained by dividing a link into 10 meters, a statistic processing program 22f sets a weighting coefficient based on a distance from each of the sections to an intersection located ahead in the advancing direction of a vehicle for each section, and a plotting program 22g displays the weighted degrees of traffic congestion as the present and future degrees of traffic congestion on a display 26.
