Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical rod which can speedily be manufactured at low cost while maintaining the performance of the optical rod (integrator) suppressing the machining cost of a reflecting plate (original plate) low, a manufacturing method and a manufacturing tool therefor, and a projector equipped with the same.
SOLUTION: A cylinder body which is sectioned nearly in a square shape is formed by making the surface of one of a plurality of flat plates, each having a light reflecting surface on the surface, abut against one side end surface of the other flat plate with the surfaces of the flat plates in. Further, the optical rod is formed by bonding side edge parts of the flat plates outside the cylinder body. Furthermore, a spacer is inserted between inclines of a couple of right-angled prisms arranged in a nearly rectangularly section pole shape and the pole is expanded and used as the manufacturing tool.
