To obtain a good end surface and excellent fatigue durability by using a punch having a specific shape of a projecting part and punching out in a specific range of a punching clearance.
A plate 4 to be worked is held by a stopper 2 and thereafter, the punch 1 is lowered. Further, at the time of lowering the punch 1, the tip part of the punch subjected to beveling to a little larger than a setting clearance is pushed down to the plate 4 to be worked and a part receiving a shearing deformation, receives the tension deformation in the arrow direction and is work-hardened. The whole beveling part at the tip part of the punch comes into contact with the plate o be worked to cause the crack from the clearance part and the good punching-out can be executed. In this case, the thickness of the plate 4 to be worked is made 2-15mm. The punch 1 having the projecting part of smaller shape than the punch diameter and the height from a cutting edge at the tip part of the punch 1 at 5-20% of the punch diameter, is used and punched out with the punching clearance in the range of 6-15%. By this method, the excellent fatigue durability after punching out can be obtd. without needing a special die.
