In the method for purifying the crude crystal of raw material wherein the crude crystal 10 of raw material is fed to the refinery tower 1 while heating the inside of the refinery tower by a heating means 2 arranged in the refinery tower 1, an external reflux liquid 14 obtained by melting crystal prepared by purifying the crude crystal 10 of raw material is fed from an overhead side or a bottom side and impurities 18 produced from the crude crystal 10 of raw material are discharged from the bottom side or the overhead side at the opposite side of the feed side of the external reflux liquid 14, an apparent heat amount Qr by heating with the heating means 2 is controlled on the basis of a calculation using the material balance equation, the heat balance equation and equation (I): Qa=(T)Qr (wherein Qa is a net heat amount for heating the inside of the refinery tower; and (T) is a contribution ratio of the refinery tower of the apparent heat amount Qr to the heating of the inside of the refinery tower 1 at an outer air temperature T).
