Title:
METHOD FOR RECOVERING CHLORINE FROM HYDROGEN CHLORIDE BY FIXED BED TEMPERATURE SWING AND CHEMICAL REACTION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2848592
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover chlorine from hydrogen chloride by using a combination of fixed bed chambers connected so that each of chlorinating, heating, oxidizing and cooling processes is continuously carried out in one or more chambers and the processes are allowed to proceed repeatedly in order in all the chambers.
SOLUTION: At the end of the cycle period of treatment, a flow is altered so that a reactor 10 enters a heating process (b), a reactor 11 takes part in an oxidizing process (c), a reactor 12 starts a cooling process (d) and a reactor 13 changes over to a chlorinating process (a). A manifold and valves required to carry out such rotation can be arranged by a system similar to that for the operation of pressure swing adsorption. The four processes are separately carried out in the reactors 11-13 during one complete cycle and all the processes are simultaneously carried out during one period.
