To provide a method for recovering a powder coating material which can suit a reuse application while keeping high catching efficiency by a wet process.
A catching process for catching the suspended or precipitated powder coating material in the still water 14 of a water tank 1 into which the unapplied powder coating material falls, a dewatering process for dewatering the suspended coating material and the precipitated coating material discharged as a water flow when a water discharge opening 3 is opened through the valve 4 of a water tank bottom surface 2 by a dewatering drying apparatus 15 into a solid, the first classification process for sorting/catching a component the particle size of which is a specified size or smaller in the solid by screening it with a vibrating screen 43, and the second classification process for sorting/catching a component the weight of which is a specified weight or below in the solid sorted/caught by the vibrating screen 43 by an elbow jet 44 are performed. In the catching process, a part of the water tank bottom surface 2 to which the suspended powder coating material and the precipitated powder coating material are adhered is vibrated by an ultrasonic oscillator 51.
