To provide a means for improving an efficiency of dehydration operation for bank sand, sludge or the like, or muddy water containing them.
In a solid-liquid separator for the muddy water comprising supply piping that supplies the muddy water to filtering surfaces, the filtering surfaces that perform the solid-liquid separation of the muddy water, and a drain ditch that collects the separated water, the filtering surface is the surfaces of one or more gutter-like members vertically installed in parallel in one or more pillar-shaped water passing pillars, the gutter-like member is made by connecting unit gutter members in the longitudinal direction, and each unit gutter member can be replaced. In the same solid-liquid separator, the filtering surface forms a closed circle, and the front and back of the filtering surface are alternately changed by rotating the filtering surface to repeat (1) a process for filtering the muddy water with the filtering surface, and (2) a process for peeling off the filtered solids from the filtering surface.
