Abstract:

To provide a new reinforcing method capable of reinforcing an existing in-river concrete pier without causing, for example, a problem about an inhibition ratio of a bridge, which arises in conventional concrete reinforcement, or a problem about an increase in running cost, which arises from the need for frequent recoatings of a rust-proof paint, etc., in steel-plate reinforcement.

An outer peripheral surface of the in-river concrete pier P is covered with a cylindrical reinforcing steel-plate layer 1; a fiber reinforced layer 2, which is composed of a high-strength continuous fiber sheet, is formed all over an outer peripheral surface of the layer 1; and after that, a resin protective layer 3 is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the layer 2.
