Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a supporting method for removing shells from multiply adhering cultured raw oysters capable of improving the efficiency of an oyster shell removing work in a place of production by applying a mechanical cut- shaving to make a hole to the shell, which is the most troublesome work, and by cutting then an adductor with a cutting tool.

CONSTITUTION: The characteristic of this method for removing from shelled oyster is to make a hole with a mechanical resection at a portion where two shells contact with each other, which is located on the other side to the position of a cord with respect to a longitudinal axis passing through the cord of a shallower shell, when one of the multiply adhering cultured raw oysters, placed by its deeper shell underneath and by its cord left hand side is looked at, and by cutting its adductor with a cutting tool after inserting it through the hole.
