PURPOSE: To effectively execute repair of lining from outside of a furnace by removing a swinging chute in a furnace, hanging down a vertically expandable type column at lower end part of a vertical chute and arranging a blowing nozzle to the column to execute repair of the lining.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of repairing the mantel lining at furnace top, the swinging chute is removed and the vertically expandable type column 7 is temporarily set at the lower end part of vertical chute 6 to hanging-down device 8, and vertically expanded/shrunk with a winder 11 through a wire 10. In this column 7, the blowing nozzle 12 is fixed to the shaft 13, and the angle thereof is set with a winder 15 through a wire 14. In this constitution, after executing removal of the remaining lining and cleaning of the mantel surface with the blowing nozzle 12, once the column 7 is removed. Successively, after fitting studs on the repairing angle of mantel, again the column 7 is fitted swung with the swinging chute 6 and expanded/shrunk with the winding device 11, and the angle of blowing nozzle 12 is adjusted with the winding device 15, and the refractory material is blown to the mantel through the blowing nozzle 12 to execute the repair of lining.
