Abstract:

To improve the strength of parts to be repaired and to shorten repair time by shaving off the defective part of the parts to be repaired, filling the part with an alloy powder, further coating the part with a powder of brazing filler metal, and then performing solid-phase sintering of the alloy powder and liquid-phase joining of the brazing filler metal.

The periphery of a cack 2 of a casing 1 is shaved off to form a recessed part 6. The recessed part 6 is filled with an alloy powder 3, and the surface of the alloy powder 3 and the surface of a base material 5 in the periphery of the recessed part 6 are coated with a brazing filler metal powder 4. This casing 1 is placed in a vacuum atmosphere and subjected to temp. raise up to the solid phase sintering temp., by which the alloy powder 3 is formed into a partially solid-phase- sintered state. The alloy powder 3 is made massive and formed into a massive structure 3A having densified parts in the mass. Subsequently, temp. is elevated up to the liquid phase joining temp. to melt the brazing filler metal powder 4 and infiltrate it into the spacing among the grains in the massive structure 3A, by which a liquid phase joined state where the grains in the massive structure 3A are joined via the liquid phase is formed. Then, the temp. is lowered down to the diffusion joining temp. and diffusion joining is allowed to occur among the massive structure 3A, the brazing filler metal powder 4 infiltrated into the spacing, and the base material 5.
