Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide possible methods for routing a message from a Mobile Control functional entity to a Cell Control functional entity in such a manner that traditionally used protocols for routing such messages can be used without being changed.
SOLUTION: The methods for routing a message from a Cell Control to a Mobile Control of Radio Network Control equipment and vice versa are disclosed. Such methods are substantially known in an art for Radio Network Controllers RNCs. Communication between functional entities of a distributed RNC enabling the routing of the message by using known protocols and reusing identifiers already known for these protocols is proposed.
