Abstract:

To provide a method of selecting a substance having thermogenesis acceleration effect containing a compound having a PPARδ activating effect, drugs therefor, and drugs having antidiabetic, antiobesitic and visceral cumulative fat-reducing effects.

The drugs contain a compound having an effect of activating a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor PPARδ and having effects of accelerating nonshivering thermogenesis (nST), specifically accelerating uncoupling respiration of mitochondria in cells such as adipocytes or proton leak in intramitochondrial membrane and elevating UCP1 expression dose. The antidiabetics, antiobesitics and vesicular cumulative fat-reducing agents contain the above compound. Also, the method of selecting the above compound by assaying the PPARδ activation effect is provided.
