PURPOSE: To surely extract a defective weft to the side opposite to the yarn feeding side in occurrence of defective weft insertion by performing dummy beating of a reed in opened state while applying opposite electrostatic charges to the reed and the woven fabric, separating the defective weft from the cloth fell with a separation nozzle and extracting with a sub-nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of defective weft insertion, the defective weft is picked out, the reed and the woven fabric are charged with opposite electrostatic charges and the dummy beating of the reed is carried out in opened state. An end of the defective weft is separated from the cloth fell at the weaving end of the yarn-feeding side by an air flow directed in the reed direction and ejected from a separation nozzle and successively discharged to the side opposite to the yarn feeding side by an air flow directing in the transfer direction of a weft-insertion sub-nozzle.
