Title:
METHOD FOR SEPARATING HEAVY METAL FROM ORGANIC WASTE, AND ITS DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006055761
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for separating heavy metals from organic waste and its device which carbonizes the organic waste to drastically reduce its volume and efficiently insolubilizes the heavy metals in the organic waste.

The separation of the heavy metals from the organic waste is performed by a fermentation process for fermenting and decomposing the organic waste by heating a mixture of the organic waste and hyperthermophilic bacteria to the activity temperature of the hyperthermophilic bacteria by a heating means, an insolubilization process for insolubilizing the heavy metals contained in the organic waste as sulfide by using hydrogen sulfide generated in the fermentation process, and a carbonization process for carbonizing the organic waste by heating it with generated heat by the hyperthermophilic bacteria. The separation device comprises a treatment tank 1 for accommodating the organic waste and the hyperthermophilic bacteria, and an air supply part 2 for supplying heated air into the treatment tank, and performs the fermentation process, insolubilization process, and carbonization process. The air supplied from the air supply part into the treatment tank may contain ionized oxygen.
