PURPOSE: To easily and inexpensively separate lead foil by heat-deteriorating a plastic film, exerting mechanical external force on the laminated tape to break the tape to fine pieces, and separating the plastic and lead by gravity.

CONSTITUTION: The laminated tape obtained by closely adhering a plastic film on at least one side of lead foil having 10-100μm thickness is heated to a temp. higher than the oxidation start temp. of the film to deteriorate the film. Consequently, the elongation of the film is reduced, and the film is easily broken by mechanical external force on the tape. Since the foil is extremely thin, a notch is formed once the film is broken, and the foil is brittle-fractured into fine pieces. As a result, the film and foil are finally broken at the same time, and the film and foil are separated. The fine pieces of the broken film and foil are separated by gravity, and the plastic and lead are separated.
