PURPOSE: To straighten easily a wire from near the root by an automatic machine by providing a guide plate for straightening and forming a wire to the outside peripheral end of immovable shaping bars and inserting movable form bars of which the bar ends are separated to a fork shape between the immovable forming bars.
CONSTITUTION: Immovable forming bars 8 move coaxially with a coil or inserted coil 2 onto a stator 1 up to the position where the bars 8 contact with the coil 2. A forming bar holder 4a is advanced by a driving device to the bar 8 side. The central part of a lead wire 3 is given the same strain and deformation as the root part 3b when the holder 4a moves so that the movable forming bars are intermeshed with the immovable bars 8. The top end 3a of the lead wire can be surely picked up even if the upper holder 4b moves. The lead wire 3 is straightened to the normal position by the abovementioned operation and even if the holders 4a, 4b retreat, the wire 3 can be held in the normal position and therefore a permanent set is given to the root 3b position of the coil. A guide plate 9 is used for stress relieving of the lead wire 3 which is straightened under the intermeshed state of the immovable bars 8 and the movable bars 5.
