PURPOSE: To use an anchor member to resist pulling forces by driving the head of a shaft into the surface of a flange, and forcing the anchor member into a bed from a hole in an outer cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: To secure a piece of stone A to the surface of a bed B using a fastener F via a joint plate 11, when the head 2b of a shaft 2 is struck by a hammer the flange 1b of an outer cylinder 1 is stopped at the joint plate 11, and as compression is caused by the head 2b with subsequent impacts, a component of force is generated, by the inclined surface 6c of a spacer cylinder 6 and the tapered surface 2c of the shaft 2, in the upper part of the spacer cylinder 6 and toward the thick-wall part 6a of the spacer cylinder 6 from the shaft axis. Therefore, the spacer cylinder 6 is strongly pressed and broken at its thin-wall part 6b by the shaft 2, is disconnected from the shaft 2 and slowly separated from the shaft 2 along almost one direction. With further impacts the shaft 2 is separated from adhesive 3 and the head 2b is driven to the surface of the flange 1b of the outer cylinder 1 via a washer 9, and an anchor member 4 is axially forced out of a hole 1c in the outer cylinder 1c and into the bed B. When out of the outer cylinder, the anchor member 4 is well-balanced to serve as an anchor resisting the force to pull out the nail.
