Abstract:
PURPOSE:To measure the sediment loadage on the vehicle automatically in a short time by stopping the sediment carrying vehicle at an entrance gate and finding the volume of the sediment on the load-carrying platform, and stopping the vehicle at an exit gate after the sediment are discharged and finding its capacity. CONSTITUTION:When the vehicle loaded with the sediment 8 enters the entrance gate 2, a normal stop position is indicated by a sensor and a display means, and a light source and an image detecting means while moved by a conveying mechanism detect an image of the sediment 8 on the load-carrying platform 9 and send its data to an image processing means. Then the vehicle 1 exiting from the gate 2 discharges the sediment 8 at a specific place in a reclaimed land, moves back, and enters the exit gate 4, where the vehicle is positioned by the sensor and display means again. Similarly, the light source and image detecting means while moving sends image data on the emptied platform 9 to the image processing means. Then the image processing means finds the volume of the sediment 8 on the platform from the image data at the time of the entrance passage, finds the capacity of the platform 9 from the image data at the time of the exit passage, and then calculates the total amount of the sediment from both of them.
