Title:
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SPECIFYING POSITION OF RAIL WAY VEHICLE ON TRACK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3877055
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of specifying a precise position of a vehicle on a track by continuous convergence using a single inertia sensor without any need for a track-side device.
SOLUTION: A speed of the vehicle is measured at different times using a means providing an approximate value of an actual speed of the rolling stock, and the inertia quantity which is so selected ad depending on only the speed of the rolling stock and geometric characteristics specific to the track is measured at the different times using the single inertia sensor disposed on the vehicle. The abscissa of the vehicle on the track is calculated using convergence algorithm by a nonlinear observer based on the known value of the approximate speed of the rolling stock measured at a different time in prior to the time that the position of the vehicle is specified, the measured value of the inertia quantity, and database storing the geometric characteristics specific to the track and its spatial differential coefficient in different curved abscissas and obtained by a learning process performed beforehand.
