To provide a treating method by which solid containing zinc can be obtained while demonstrating satisfactory solid-liquid separation performance, and moisture content in the solid can be greatly reduced, when zinc or the like is recovered as solid from a substance such as fly ash containing heavy metals including zinc or the like.

This treating method comprises processes of: (A) obtaining solid containing lead and an aqueous solution containing zinc by solid-liquid separation of acidic slurry obtained by mixing fly ash containing zinc, lead or the like with sulfuric acid solution; (B) obtaining solid and an aqueous solution containing lead by solid-liquid separation of alkaline slurry obtained by mixing the solid obtained in the process (A) with an alkalinization agent and water; and (C) obtaining alkaline slurry by gradually adding the aqueous solution containing zinc obtained in the process (A) to the aqueous solution containing lead obtained in the process (B) and then obtaining solid containing zinc and lead by solid-liquid separation of the alkaline slurry.
