PURPOSE: To wash a filter material over the total length thereof as uniform as possible, in washing the filter material, by combining a plurality of washing processes for performing the injection of air bubbles from the interior of the filter material.
CONSTITUTION: A first washing process for backwardly flow the filtrate stagnating in a filter material 5 and a filtrate intake chamber 4 by compressed air is performed by closing a raw solution supply valve A while opening a backwashing air valve F. Subsequently, a second washing process for performing air-bubble washing by backwashing air with the outflow of the filtrate is taken. Further, a third washing process for performing movement washing is performed by succeedingly performing air-bubble washing while a washing solution is gradually fallen and moved by slightly opening a drain valve B. Next, all of the contaminated washing solution is discarded from the drain valve B. As a result, almost uniform washing effect can be applied even to a long filter material 5 over the entire surface thereof and fabrication cost can be reduced by enabling drain constitution with small function.
