To provide a method for weaving a double-ply fabric by using a decreased and necessary number of heddles for weaving the front and back textures.

A plurality of heddles 5A, 5B are each provided with a front warp heald 6a having a long hole 10 opened in the upper half part and a back warp heald 6b having a long hole 10 in the lower half part. A front warp 1a and a back warp 1b are passed through respective long holes 10, and the heddles 5A and 5B are vertically moved in a prescribed sequence to form two stages of upper and lower openings, the front warp 2a is inserted into the upper opening to weave the front texture, and the back warp 2b is inserted into the lower opening to weave the back texture. The above weaving steps are carried out in a prescribed order to achieve one cycle, and the cycle is repeated to form the double-ply fabric formed of the front texture and the back texture.
