PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate remaining tensile stress in the bending part on an outer peripheral corner and to improve the durability of a flat plate by pressing a pressing member against the inside of a corner bending part of the flat plate at a prescribed load.
SOLUTION: A lockup piston 21 is set on a jig, load P is added to a roller 81 by a pressing means in the direction of the arrow C and the outer peripheral edge part 85 is pressed against the inside of the bending part 69 on the outer periperal corner. By a shifting means arranged on the roller 81, the outer peripheral edge part 85 is shifted along the surface of the inside of the bending part 69 on the outer peripheral corner in the direction of the arrow D. At this time, the inclination of the center axis 82 of rotation is made constant and an approximate right angle to the direction of the arrow C is made. Consequently, because plastic working is executed in the vicinity of the center (a) of bending on the inside of the outer peripheral bending part 69, it is possible to reduce or remove the tensile stress remaining in the vicinity of the center (a) of bending. Moreover, by increasing the load P, it also is possible to make compressive stress remain in the vicinity of the center (a) of bending.
